Bio

Derrick Bails became the assistant basketball coach on June 1, 2025, after serving as the assistant coach at Shelton State Community College for the past two years. Coach Bails played collegiately at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services.

Prior to his time at SSCC, Derrick served as an assistant coach at Life University, Edward Waters University, Talladega College, and Northeast Mississippi CC.

Coach Bails has a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court by emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
