
Tigers Battle to Double Overtime Win at Home
Marion, AL. – The MMI men's basketball team improved their ACCC record to 5-4 after defeating the Coyotes of Coastal Alabama CC-North yesterday, 110-108, in double overtime.
Raylan Barrion led the Tigers with 26 points before fouling out in overtime; he also dished out a team high nine assists. Kamari Slaughter and Jacob Cooper each finished with a double-double. Slaughter scored 25 points with 10 rebounds while Cooper grabbed a team high 14 rebounds with 13 points and five steals.
Katayvon Jefferies, the number two scorer in the conference, finished with 22 points. Jaquavious Wallace gave Marion quality minutes off the bench with 13 points and five rebounds. Also scoring for MMI was Darrin Thompson Jr (8) and Malik Owens (3).
The Tigers will travel to Phenix City, Alabama Thursday, January 30, for an ACCC re-match against the Pirates of Chattahoochee Valley CC.
