Five minutes into the first half MMI held a slim 16-15 lead. With both teams unable to score during the next four minutes, Elijah Marsh hit one of two free throws to extend the lead to 17-15. Calhoun hit a three-pointer on their next possession and took control of the game. The Warhawks held a 43-53 lead at halftime.

After a Calhoun score, Burroughs scored on an offensive putback; MMI down 88-89 with 24.8 seconds to play. Marion was forced to foul and the Warhawks connected on some key throws to put the game away.
Anthony Bryant led Marion with 31 points. Quandre Burroughs added 20 points and Eli Elston and Isaiah Green each contributed 10 points. Rounding out the scoring for Marion was Aidan Driggers (8), Elijah Marsh (7), and Tyrone Wright (2).
