Marion Evens Record to 2-2
Marion, AL. - Despite a poor shooting night, the MMI men's basketball team improved their record to 2-2 with a 68-46 win at home versus the Tornadoes of Talladega College.
Talladega scored the first two points and held an early two-poiint lead until Darius Dawson scored to tie the game at two points apiece. The Tornadoes evened the game when Dawson scored on an offensive rebound to put the Tigers ahead. MMI never surrendered the lead with them taking a 31-19 lead into halftime.
The second half started with Mark Bradwell scoring on an old-fashioned three point play; a basket and a free throw. On the next possession, Bradwell found Zhavian Green for a three-pointer and the lead grew to 38-12. The Tigers coasted the rest of the second period and recorded their second win of the season.
Desmond Ward led Marion with 13 points. Jimmie Sanders added nine points with Larry Penn and Darius Dawson each finishing with eights points.
MMI will host Chattahoochee Valley CC THursday, November 14 for an ACCC North-South match-up. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the William R. Ireland Athletic Center.
