Tigers Keep Winning Streak Alive, Now at 15 games
Marion, AL. - The Tigers fought off a scrappy Snead State CC team last night to keep their winning streak alive, now at 15 games. The 90-74 victory improves Marion's overall record to 20-3, 8-0 in ACCC North play.
Christian Bradford led all scorers with 20 points. Sophomore Dotson Griffin, starting in place of Miles Perdue, came up one rebound shy of a double-double. Griffin finished with a season high 17 points and nine rebounds. Quamauri Hardy added 12 points and Ronnie Baylark had 10 points in the win.
The Parsons from Snead took an early six-point lead before Marion was able to settle into a rhythm. Marion took a slim two-point advantage five minutes into the first half but SSCC would not go away easily. The lead see-sawed back and forth until the Tigers gained a slim one-point lead at the 8:28 mark, a lead they would not surrender the rest of the game. Marion led 45-34 at halftime.
Snead State tried several runs during the second half but couldn't get the deficit closer than six points. Rounding out the scoring for MMI were Chase Garvin (8), Neiman Dunams (7), Mike Nobles (7), Charles Tripp (6), and Tyquarious Arnold (3).
Marion will travel to face Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama Thursday evening for a 7:00 p.m. tip.
