Tigers Rebound with Road Win Against GSCC

Tigers Rebound with Road Win Against GSCC

Gadsden, AL. – After dropping three straight games this past weekend to Shelton State CC, the MMI Tigers rebounded with a road win against the Cardinals of Gadsden State CC in a nine-inning game, 7-6. Marion will travel to East Central CC this Friday for a doubleheader, weather permitting, as they prepare for ACCC conference play to start next Thursday, February 20.

Nicholas Blaszczak took the mound to start the game and after five innings of work, was relieved by Dylan Lewkutz who earned the win. Nathaniel Valles also saw action in relief.

Brinson Carpenter and Hayden Markfort each had two hits for Marion with Carpenter scoring once with a stolen base and two RBI; Markfort doubled with one run scored. Also recording hits for MMI were William Keller (1-for-1, SB, 4BB), Francisco Ramirez (1-for-4, 2B, SB, 2RBI, R), Riley Friend (1-for-5, SB, RBI), and Harrison McPherson (1-for-2, R, 2BB).

Also scoring a run for Marion in the win was Noah Sumners and Seth Frantz.
