Tigers Drop Road DH to EMCC

Scooba, MS. – The MMI baseball team dropped a doubleheader on the road at East Mississippi CC yesterday. They will welcome the Lions to Scott G. Davis Field Saturday for the final two games of the series; the first pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.

Game 1 MMI 0 EMCC 2

Landon Alton worked 4.2 innings, earning his first start of the 2025 season. He gave up three hits, two runs and four walks with four strikeouts. Freshman Logan Ivey pitched 1.1 innings in relief, allowing just one hit and no runs.

Marion scattered just five hits in the loss - Francisco Ramirez (2B), Seth Frantz, Haldyn Williams, Brinson Carpenter, and Harrison McPherson.

Game 2 MMI 1 EMCC 5

Francisco Ramirez, the Tiger's lead-off batter, scored MMI's only run with Brinson Carpenter recording his first RBI of the season. Others getting a hit for Marion were Wesley Chappell, Riley Friend, and Haldyn Williams.

Nathaniel Valles started on the mound for MMI and after 2.2 innings of work, Dylan Lewkutz and Weston Braisted relieved him.
