Women's Cross Country Compete at Brickyard Invitational

Milledgeville, GA. - The MMI women's cross country team may have been shorthanded this past Friday evening but that didn't stop the three runners from giving it their all at the Brickyard Invitational, hosted by Georgia Military College.

Amindy Mullen paced Marion's threesome with a 24:56.0 5k finish for 11th overall.  Fellow freshmen Emilia Puszynski (25:12.5) and Kelsey Majkowski (26:41.4) followed in 13th and 23rd, respectively.  "I think we started the race a little faster than we normally do, but they gritted it out," said Head Coach Chad Balentine. "With this week off from competition we will be able to train some more and get some added mileage in before we head to Huntsville on the 28th."

The Lady Tigers will be joining the men's team in Huntsville for the Charger Open hosted by UAH on Spetember 28.  The women's 5k is scheduled to start at 9:45 a.m.
