Lady Tigers Blank Lady Trojans in Women’s Tennis
Alexander City, AL—The Lady Tigers bolted to a 3-0 lead after the doubles portion of the match and continued their strong play into singles action, sweeping all six of those events as well, to record the 9-0 win over the Lady Trojans of Central Alabama Community College. The Lady Tigers are now 6-0 on the year and 4-0 in conference play. Anna Waller and Kitty Greenwalt led the Tiger surge with their solid 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles. The Tigers added a pair of 8-3 doubles wins to round out the doubles scoring. In singles play, Ksenia Vasilyev registered a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, and Waller reversed those scores in a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. Greenwalt won 12 straight games to win her match, 6-0, 6-0, while Kathryn Risner allowed two games in her match. Gianna Azzaro and Catherine Taylor also won their matches in straight sets.
