MMI Lady Tigers Fall to Snead State, 6-3, in Women’s Tennis
Marion, AL—A very inexperienced Lady Tiger tennis squad fell to the Lady Parsons of Snead State Community College, 6-3, in a Saturday afternoon match at the Paul B. Anderson Tennis Complex.
Three of the six players on the women's team started playing tennis a mere two weeks ago, and one other player, Madison Schmidt, had never touched a tennis racket until last semester. All four players tried their hardest and put in a good effort.
Karen Yan, MMI's No. 1 singles player, broke open a close 3-2 match by winning the remaining nine games to close out her match, 6-2, 6-0.
MMI's Makenzie Ralston, at No. 2 singles, polished off her Lady Parson opponent by allowing only one game in her 6-0, 6-1 match.
Yan and Ralston, MMI's No. 1 doubles team, rallied to win the last five games of their doubles match to take the 8-4 win.
The Lady Tigers return to action on Monday, February 26 when they host Coastal Alabama Community College in a 1:00 p.m. match at the Paul B. Anderson Tennis Complex.
