Lady Tigers Finish Conference Play Undefeated with 9-0 Win over Wallace State

Hanceville, AL—The Lady Tigers stormed to another strong win on Saturday afternoon, defeating Wallace State Community College-Hanceville, 9-0, for the second time this season and finishing Alabama Community College Conference play with an unblemished 8-0 record.  Overall, the Lady Tigers are 15-1 on the season.  Their only loss was to the University of West Alabama, a Division II powerhouse currently ranked number 22 in the nation.

The Lady Tigers mauled the Lady Lions in doubles play, losing only one game in three matches.  Pulling down wins for the Lady Tigers were Paola Bou and Morgan Ingram at No. 1 doubles (8-1), Alana Larcombe and Bridget Mayfield at No. 2 doubles (8-0), and Makenzie Ralston and Jordan Berrios at No. 3 doubles (8-0).

In singles play, the Lady Tigers lost one set in six matches.  Bridget Mayfield bounced back from losing the first set, 1-6, to take the match, 6-3, 6-1.  In other singles action, Bou (6-1, 6-2), Larcombe (6-3, 6-1), Ingram (6-0, 6-0), Ralston (6-1, 6-0) and Rebecca Lin (6-0, 6-0) won their matches in straight sets.

The Lady Tigers' last dual match of the season will be held on Senior Day at Martin Methodist College.  The match, which will be played at the Magazine Road Park Tennis Courts, is slated to start at 1:00 p.m.
