Lady Tigers Blank Lady Parsons, 9-0, in Women’s Tennis
Boaz, AL—The Lady Tigers continued to dominate conference play as they handed the Lady Parsons of Snead State Community College a 9-0 loss on Thursday afternoon at the Snead State courts.
In doubles play, the Lady Tigers got off to a slow start and could not shake off their abysmal play until the latter stages of all three matches. The calamitous doubles play on the Lady Tigers' part was a mix of careless errors and million-dollar shots that went bust. In spite of their worst efforts, the Lady Tigers pulled out all three matches: Paola Bou and Morgan Ingram at No. 1 doubles (8-5), Alana Larcombe and Bridget Mayfield at No. 2 doubles (8-4), and Makenzie Ralston and Jordan Berrios at No. 3 doubles (9-8 [4]).
Singles play for the Lady Tigers was an entirely different story. All six players played spectacular tennis. In fact, according to coach Charles Wright, "A few of the players played their smartest tennis of the year."
Putting W's in the record book were Paola Bou (6-0, 6-1), Alana Larcombe (6-1, 6-0), Morgan Ingram (6-1, 6-0), Bridget Mayfield (6-1, 6-1), Makenzie Ralston (6-0, 6-0), and Rebecca Lin (6-2, 6-0).
The Lady Tigers travel north on Saturday, April 15 to face Wallace State Community College-Hanceville in a 1:00 p.m. match.
