Lady Tigers Win 8-1, Improve Record to 10-1
Alexander City, AL—The Lady Tigers improved their season record to 10-1 overall and 5-0 in Alabama Community College Conference play with their 8-1 win over the Lady Trojans of Central Alabama Community College at the Cal Alison Tennis Complex on Wednesday.
The Lady Tigers' No. 1 doubles team of Paola Bou and Morgan Ingram stormed back from a 2-5 deficit to win six of the remaining seven games and the match, 8-6. The Lady Tigers' No. 2 doubles tandem of Alana Larcombe and Bridget Mayfield scored a convincing 8-1 win. Makenzie Ralston and Jordan Berrios scored Marion's third doubles point with their 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
MMI scored five more points on the afternoon with wins by Bou (6-1, 6-1) at No. 1 singles, Larcombe (6-2, 6-1) at No. 2 singles, Ingram (6-0, 6-3) at No. 3 singles, Mayfield at No. 4 singles (6-3, 6-0), and Ralston at No. 5 singles (6-0, 6-0).
The Lady Tigers remain on the road to take on Coastal Alabama Community College at the Municipal Pool and Tennis Complex in Bay Minette. Serves are scheduled to fly at 1:00 p.m.
