Lady Tigers Defeat Lady Trojans of Central Alabama, 9-0

Marion, AL—The Marion Military Institute Lady Tigers downed the Central Alabama Community College Lady Trojans, 9-0, in women's tennis action at the Paul B. Anderson Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon. 

In doubles play, MMI won two fairly routine doubles matches at No. 1 (8-2) and No. 3 doubles (8-3), but the doubles match at No. 2 doubles was anything but routine.  The Lady Trojans surged to a substantial lead over the Tiger twosome of Alana Larcombe and Bridget Mayfield.  Larcombe and Mayfield did not let their slow start hinder them, however.  They battled back to take the match, 8-6.

The Lady Tigers continued their winning ways in singles, with Paola Bou (6-0, 7-6 [5]), Larcombe (6-1, 6-3), Morgan Ingram (6-1, 6-1), Mayfield (6-0, 6-3), Makenzie Ralston (6-0, 6-0), and Rebecca Lin (6-1, 6-1) scoring straight-set wins.

The Lady Tigers remain at home to take on Wallace State Community College-Hanceville in a 1:00 p.m. match on Sunday, February 26.
