Lady Eagles Subdue Lady Tigers, 6-3, in Women’s Tennis

Marion, AL—Just like the movie Groundhog Day, the Lady Tigers keep reliving the same scenario over and over again:  the Lady Tigers default three matches, Conway and Cespedes produce three wins for the Lady Tigers, and the Lady Tigers lose three matches.  Yet again that saga played out in Tuesday's match with the Meridian Community College Lady Eagles.  The Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Tigers, 6-3, at the Paul B. Anderson Tennis Complex.

MMI's Carlee Conway and Maria Cespedes knocked off Jennifer Smith and Alden Hartley, 8-2, on court 1, and Meridian's Caroline Taylor and Taylor White stymied MMI's Shikiria Franklin and Selah Cho, 8-0.

In singles play, Conway continued her torrid play, scoring a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.  At No. 2 singles, Cespedes nicked Taylor, 6-1, 7-5.

The Lady Tigers will host the Lady Sun Chiefs of Faulkner State Community College in a 1:00 p.m. match on Wednesday, April 8.
