Marion Wrestlers Dominate Auburn 60-3

Marion, AL - The MMI wrestlers dominated Auburn University Friday evening in the Tigers' first home match, winning by a score of 60 to 3.  Marion's Nino Cerna (125-lb.), Jeremy Beesley (141-lb.), DeAndre Beck (149-lb.), Trom Peterson (235-lb.) and John Long (285-lb.) each won by forfeit.

Tyrone Carter, Marion's 133-lb. wrestler, lost 8-3 and gave Auburn their only points in the match.  George Stagg (157-lb.) won by fall, as did teammates Michael Whalen (165-lb.), BJ Thomas (174-lb.), Jesse Garrett (184-lb.) and Foster Wade (197-lb.).

Marion will travel to the University of Central Florida this weekend to compete in a duals tournament Friday evening and an open tournament on Saturday.
