Softball Defeats ESCC at Home

Marion, AL. - The MMI Lady Tigers softball team picked up wins #19 and #20  Thursday afternoon, defeating Enterprise State Community College 3-0 and 5-0.

Game One: MMI 3 ESCC 0

Kamryn Murdock earned her ninth win of the spring season, throwing another complete game for the Lady Tigers.  She allowed four hits, no runs, and one walk while striking out eight batters.

MMI scored one run in the second inning when Bailee Butler earned a one out walk.  With two outs in the inning, Abigale Williams bunted and reached base on an error.  Bailie Seales got her first of two hits, bringing in Butler.

The third inning started with Maris Stinchcomb blasting a double to left centerfield.  Alexis Paredes recorded a base hit in Marion's next at-bat to move Stinchcomb to third.  Paredes stole second and a throwing error allowed Stinchcomb to score the Lady Tiger's second run.

Marion scored their last run in the fourth inning as Brianna Ashcraft started the rally with a walk.  Hope Owens sacrificed Ashcraft to second.  Ashcraft then stole third and was able to score on an errant throw.

Seales led MMI's hitters going 2-for-3 with one RBI from the lead-off spot in the lineup.  Maris Stinchcomb, Alexis Paredes, and Brianna Ashcraft also recorded hits for Marion in the win.

Game Two: MMI 5 ESCC 0

MMI plated one run in the first and third innings and then added three more runs in the sixth inning to claim their twentieth win of the season.  Haley Horton pitched a complete game shutout for her fourth win.  She allowed five hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

Maris Stinchcomb and Madison Bubel each went 2-for-3 from the plate.  Stinchcomb scored a run with one RBI; Bubel score once and recorded two RBI.  Also collecting hits for MMI were: Alexis Paredes, Morgan Dennis, and Alyssa Carizzales.
