Lady Tigers Earn First ACCC North Win With Split Against Snead

The Lady Tigers couldn't have played two totally different games Tuesday afternoon in a home doubleheader against Snead State CC.  In game one the Lady Parsons dominated the Lady Tigers with a 10-0 win.  Game two saw MMI take an early lead and expand it to 9-2 before holding on for a 9-8 victory. 

In the win, MMI scattered five hits with sophomore infielder Abbigail Elrod earning two in four at-bats.  She also scored a run.  Yasmin Cottingham went 1-for-4 with 2 RBI's and a run scored.  Danielle Phillips got a double for her only hit with 2 RBI's and a run scored.  Amanda Ingram rounded out the hits.  She earned two walks, one RBI and scored once.  Also crossing the plate for Marion were: Kirsten Borden (2), Lexie Green, Bryndi-Alyn Ward, and Megan Dockery.

Marion will host Wallace State Community College on Thursday, March 23 in another ACCC North doubleheader.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
