MMI Softball pounds 20 hits in Doubleheader Split.

Dothan AL-  The Marion Military Institute softball team (6-10) jumped to an early 4-2 lead in game one of a doubleheader at Wallace Community College-Dothan that carried them to the bottom of the seventh inning.  An error, two singles and a walk off three-run homerun by Wallace Dothan snatched the game away from the Lady Tigers and they fell 6-4.  Hayden Short led the offense with two doubles and Kennedy Harrison had a double with two RBIs.  Caitlynn Cooper pitched all seven innings giving up two earned runs off of eight hits.

In game two the Lady Tigers scored three runs in the top of the first inning and held a 9-8 lead until the end of the fourth inning.  Kennedy Harrison's two-run homer in the top of the sixth proved to be a difference maker as the final score was 11-10.  Wallace-Dothan threatened in the bottom of the seventh inning with bases loaded and two outs before Lauren Camacho got the opposing batter to pop up on a change up.  MMI slugged 13 hits; Emily Tarango went 2-for-4 with two doubles, Alisea Balderaz went 2-for-3 with a two RBI double and three runs scored. Kennedy Harrison 2-for-3 with a double and home run.  She also had two RBIs and acored twice. Sharayah Simoco went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
