Lady Tigers Softball Finishes Fall Season

Carrollton, GA - The MMI Lady Tigers softball team completed their fall season at the University of West Georgia this past weekend.  Although Marion didn't win either game of the doubleheader, Head Coach Sarah Harman was pleased with the team's overall effort.

In the first game, MMI scored first and led 2-1 until the bottom of the 6th inning when UWG scored two runs.  Caitlynn Cooper pitched a complete game scattering seven hits on three runs with three strikeouts.  Alisea Balderaz got the scoring started in the top of the 2nd inning by hitting a shot to centerfield, scoring pinch runner Kaitlyn Green before Bailey Connor was thrown out at the plate by the UWG center-fielder to end the inning.  The Lady Tigers scored again in the top of the third with a Kennedy Harrison single and RBI. MMI had 4 hits and drew 5 walks.

In game two, the UWG offense got rolling to post a 10-0 victory.  UWG had 12 hits and earned all ten runs.  Marion hitters could not tally a hit in the game, striking out six times and drawing four walks.
