Men’s XC Earns 2nd Place Finish at the Brickyard Invitational

Milledgeville, GA. – The MMI men's cross country team placed second at the Brickyard Invitational last Friday evening, an event hosted by Georgia Military College.  Savannah College of Art and Design took first place in the men's 8k race with Central Georgia Tech placing third.  The host school, GMC, finished 4th and Andrew College took 5th.

Kendall England, a returning sophomore, paced the Tigers with a personal best time of 28:27.3.  His sixth place overall finish was followed by freshman Aaron Brown (28:43.2), who laid claim to 7th place overall.  Brown and England were followed by teammates Michael Welborn (29:16.5), Daniel Garza (32:19.2) and Raul Martinez (37:01.3).

Head coach Chad Balentine seemed pleased with the effort of his runners, "I thought it was a good race for us with our sophomore leader Kendall running a personal best.  We might have started out a little fast and that is something we will work on during the week.  The good thing about having this week off is to get in some additional mileage and training ahead of the Charger Open at UAH."

The UAH sponsored Charger Open will start with the men's 8k race at 9:00 a.m.
