Bio

A native of Homer, Louisiana, Coach Burns competed collegiately in the Throws at Southeastern Louisiana University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree.  He completed his collegiate career at the University of the Cumberlands while finishing his Master’s Degree.

Coach Burns served as an assistant coach at Transylvania University during the 2021-22 season.  Transylvania University competes in the Heartland Conference of the NCAA as a Division III member.

Coach Burns will take over MMI’s Throws group as the newest addition to the intercollegiate sport offerings (track and field) gets off the ground this year.
