Tigers Fly by Cardinals, 9-0, in Men’s Tennis
Gadsden, AL—The Tigers toppled the shorthanded Cardinals at the Gadsden Tennis Complex yesterday afternoon, 9-0. Aided by three walkovers, the Tigers quickly sealed the match win with two doubles wins. Joseph Tanjuatco and Carson Johnson raced to an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles, and then Eddie Hunter and Dom Ingram collected MMI's fifth point and the clinching match point with their 8-3 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
The Tigers put four more points on the scoreboard with strong singles wins by Tanjuatco (6-0, 6-0), Hunter (6-2, 6-1), and Ingram (6-0, 6-2). Johnson lost his first set in an 8-10 tiebreaker but rebounded nicely to take the last two sets, 6-4, 6-3.
