Lions Devour Tigers, 9-0, in Men’s Tennis
Hanceville, AL—A scrappy Tiger team bounced back from a few first-set blowouts to make a mismatch a match on Wednesday afternoon at the Wallace State Community College-Hanceville courts. Even so, the Tigers bowed out, 9-0, to the Lions, but not before Joseph Tanjuatco gave the Colombian Sebastian Gamez all he could handle at No. 1 singles (5-7, 4-6) and Dom Ingram forced Wallace State's Eli Hagen to play some great tennis at No. 4 singles (3-6, 3-6).
However, it was Eddie Hunter at No. 2 singles and Preston Smith at No. 3 singles (both of whom lost their first sets 6-1 and 6-0, respectively) who picked themselves up and dusted themselves off to bounce back in their second sets. They both lost by identical second-set scores of 4-6. They were resilient to the end.
