Tigers Blank Cardinals, 9-0, in Men’s Tennis

Gadsden, AL—The Marion Military Institute men's tennis team took to the courts at the Gadsden Tennis Complex for the first scrimmage match of the season on Friday morning and came away with a 9-0 win over the Cardinals of Gadsden State Community College. 

The visiting Tigers won six close matches on the day, two in doubles (8-5 and 9-7) and four in singles (7-5, 6-3; 6-3. 4-6, 6-4; 6-2, 7-6, 1-0; and 7-5, 6-1).  The closest match of the day belonged to Carson Johnson, who took the first set, 6-2, lost the second-set tiebreaker, 7-5, but won the match by claiming the super tiebreaker for the third set, 10-8.
