Tigers Drop First Match of Young Season in Men’s Tennis
Marion, AL—The Marion Military Institute Tigers lost a narrow 5-4 decision to the visiting Lions of Wallace State Community College-Hanceville on Friday afternoon at the Paul B. Anderson Tennis Complex. In a well-played match, the Tigers took two of the three doubles matches. Andrew Branicki and Joseph Tanjuatco contributed the first point of the day with a tremendous 8-3 win over the Wallace State pair of Sebastian Arce and Will Brackin, while Sean Dreher and William Phillips combined to put up point 2 of the afternoon with an 8-4 win over Sauvage Florent and Gage Anderson. Dreher and Phillips scored singles wins for the final two points of the afternoon for the Tigers.
