Men’s Tennis Closes Out Fall Season with 8-1 Win over Sun Chiefs

Marion, AL—The Marion Military Institute men's tennis team capped off its fall season with an 8-1 exhibition win over the Coastal Alabama Community College Sun Chiefs on Tuesday afternoon.

MMI swept the doubles portion of the match with relative ease.

"The doubles lineup is still up in the air," said coach Charles Wright.  "I haven't hit upon the right combinations yet.  I've tried various pairings with mixed results.  Getting the right combinations with the vast array of personalities that we have on the team this year is downright tricky.  This team is like a Rubik's Cube."

Sean Dreher and Joseph Tanjuatco delivered quick wins in singles play to secure the match for MMI.  Also recording singles wins were Andrew Branicki, William Phillips, and Preston Smith.

The Tigers will return to action on Saturday, February 1 when they travel to Meridian, MS, to play a doubleheader with Meridian Community College at 9:00 a.m. and Jones College at 2:00 p.m.
