MMI Blanks Gadsden State in Men’s Tennis, 9-0

Marion, AL—The Tigers of MMI got off to a strong start in doubles and continued their winning ways in singles to storm past the visiting Gadsden State Community College Cardinals, 9-0, in a Sunday afternoon match at the Paul B. Anderson Tennis Complex.

Although the Tigers weren't hitting on all cylinders in their doubles matches, they picked up their play in singles, winning three matches in very short order.  Andrew Branicki, Sean Dreher, and Preston Smith closed out their matches ruthlessly and quickly with straight 6-0, 6-0 wins.  Joseph Tanjuatco won in a walkover at No. 2 singles.  William Phillips and Dominique Ingram closed out the scoring for the Tigers in their first dual match of the fall season.

Also collecting singles and doubles wins were Austin Taylor and Emmanuel Warner.

The Tigers (and Lady Tigers) will return to dual-match action on Tuesday, October 29 when they host Coastal Alabama Community College at 1:00 p.m.
