Tigers Down Sun Chiefs, 7-2, in Men’s Tennis

Marion, AL—The Marion Military Institute Tigers won two of the three doubles flights and five of the six singles flights in Monday afternoon's match at the Paul B. Anderson Tennis Complex to secure the 7-2 win against the Sun Chiefs of Coastal Alabama Community College.

Danny Boussom and Connor Higginbotham blanked Coastal Alabama's Sam Barrett and Luke Lyons, 8-0, while Chris Lee and Kai Tougas played strong in their 8-4 win.  Isaiah Polk and Quentin Llewellyn fell in a close contest at No. 3 doubles, 9-7.

Boussom, MMI's No. 1 singles player, and Polk, MMI's No. 3 singles player, continued their spotless play with 6-0, 6-0 wins.  Lee, at No. 2 singles, scored a 6-2, 6-3 win.  Tougas played solidly down the home stretch to snag a 7-5, 6-4 win, and Higginbotham turned in a nice performance at No. 5 singles, winning 6-4, 7-5.  Quentin Llewellyn lost in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (4).

The Tigers play two matches on Saturday, March 3 at the Northeast Tennis Center in Meridian, MS.  Their first match is against Meridian Community College at 10:00 a.m., and their second match is at 2:00 p.m. against Holmes Community College.
