NJCAA National Tournament - Day 1 in the Books for MMI Tigers

Plano, TX. - The four players representing the MMI men's tennis team at the NJCAA National Tournament have completed their day one matches.

Isaiah Polk (#1 singles) lost to Lachlan Napier (Seminole State CC) 6-2, 6-0.  Isaiah will continue play in the consolation round.

Barry Booth (#2 singles) lost to Breno Goncalves (Meridian CC) 6-1, 6-2.  Barry will continue play in the consolation round.

Andrew Carey (#3 singles) defeated Christian Lavengco (Oakton CC) 6-1, 6-1.  Andrew will face the 3rd seeded player from Seward County, Ondrej Nice, tomorrow in the winner's bracket.

Harry Foster (#4 singles) received a bye and will play his first match tomorrow morning against Noah Rowell from Mississippi GUlf Coast CC in the winner's bracket.

Polk/Booth defeated Peter Koda/Robert Lazar (Oakton CC) in #1 doubles 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.  They will face Daniel Stormon/Akinori Wada from Collin County in the winner's bracket.

Carey/Foster defeated Giovanni Fragalle/Kaio Massao (Barton CC) 6-2, 4-6, ret.  They will face David Felix/Gergo Rendek from Mesa CC in the winner's bracket.
