Holloway and Bell Star in Loss to RedHawks

Pulaski, TN—The Martin Methodist College RedHawks had the hot hand early and late in Wednesday afternoon's men's tennis match at Magazine Road Park, winning two of the three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches.  Marion Military Institute's Max Holloway came up big for the Tiger cause by teaming with Xavier Bell to prevent a RedHawk doubles sweep and then held on to win his singles match to avert a RedHawk singles sweep.  The RedHawks downed the Tigers, 7-2.

Holloway and Bell outlasted the RedHawk tandem of Brad Prada and Carsen Clanton, 8-6, at No. 3 doubles by playing some artful tennis in the last few games of the match.  The Tiger team of Adam Bahney and Andrew Wright suffered an 8-2 setback to Jesus Quesada and Nico Galleguillo, and the remaining Tiger duo of Ben Lee and Blake McDonald fell to Farith Lozano and Raphael Monzione, 8-1.

In singles play, the RedHawks stormed through the first five matches.  Holloway derailed the singles sweep by holding on to win his match, 8-6.

The Tigers head down Highway 5 for a match with the Rams of the University of Mobile on Tuesday, April 5.  The match is scheduled to commence at 2:00 p.m.
