Tigers Clip Cardinals, 6-3, in Men’s Tennis

Gadsden, AL—The MMI Tigers took two of the three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches in Saturday afternoon's tennis match at the Gadsden Tennis Complex to clip the Gadsden State Community College Cardinals, 6-3.

In doubles action, the Tigers roared to wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, with Adam Bahney and Andrew Wright at No. 1 doubles and Xavier Bell and Max Holloway at No. 3 doubles producing solid 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-2 wins, respectively.

In singles play, the following MMI players downed their Gadsden State counterparts:  Adam Bahney at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2; Andrew Wright at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-0; Xavier Bell at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-2; and Shane McDonough at No. 6 singles, 7-6 (4), 4-6, 10-6.

MMI remains on the road to take on the Martin Methodist College RedHawks in a 1:00 p.m. match on Wednesday, March 30.
