Mobile, AL—The Mississippi College Choctaws scalped the Marion Military Institute Tigers, 9-0, at the Gerald L. Wallace Sr. Tennis Complex on the University of Mobile campus in Sunday afternoon men's tennis action.

The Tigers' No. 1 doubles team of Adam Bahney and Andrew Wright put up quite the fight before falling to the Choctaw team of Marcos Rocca and Petar Dahmanovic, 9-8 (5).

"I thought the No. 1 doubles match featured some great tennis," said head coach Charles Wright.  "The quality of the tennis was superb, with both teams displaying incredible shot-making capabilities.  Some of the volley action was just classic doubles."

MMI's Xavier Bell and Max Holloway played well at times in their 8-4 loss to the Choctaw tandem of Lucio Menezes and Max Nilges on court 2, and MMI's Shane McDonough and Blake McDonald lost on court 3 to Phillip Qu and Jose Gonzalez, 8-2, to round out the doubles scoring for the Choctaws.

In singles action, the rout was on when Adam Bahney, MMI's No. 1 singles player, had to default due to injury.  The remaining MMI players then moved up in the lineup.  The Choctaws swept all six singles points.

The Tigers visit the University of West Alabama Tigers for an exhibition match on Wednesday, March 9.  Match play begins at 3:00 p.m.
