Men's Tennis Earns Highest GPA at Semester Break; Department at 3.011

Marion, AL. - Grades are in for the fall semester and once again the student-athletes achieved above a 3.0 grade point average; 3.01164 to be precise.  This is the second straight fall semester that the MMI Tigers have surpassed that mark.

The MMI men's tennis team earned the highest grade point average with a 3.235 GPA.  Their female counterparts followed with a 3.093 GPA.  Softball finished with a 2.9518 GPA while baseball (2.9384) and basketball (2.84) were not far behind.

Six student-athletes finished the fall semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA - Zachary Neumann (Baseball; Huntsville HS), Chad Robinson (Baseball; Huntsville HS), Jesse Wheeler (Baseball; Bob Jones HS), Brett White (Baseball; Homewood HS), Adam Bahney (Tennis; East Lebanon County HS), and Kathryn Clark (Softball; Grissom HS). 

In addition to these high achievers, 45 student-athletes finished the semester carrying above a 3.0 grade point average.  "We are very proud of our student-athletes and what they were able to achieve in the classroom this semester.  It is a credit to them, their teammates, and the coaching staff here at Marion.  With everything these young men and women are required to do on a daily basis here at MMI, it is a testament to their work ethic and resolve," states Director of Athletics, Michelle Ivey. "We congratulate each one for their accomplishments and look forward to seeing them compete during the spring semester."
