Men’s Tennis Spring 2015 Preview

Marion, AL—Kaiser De Leon, Morgan Hale, and Andrew Wright provided numerous highlights for the men's tennis team in the fall season and should continue to produce more thrilling play in the upcoming spring season.  This fall, De Leon's quickness of foot propelled him to the USTA/ITA Southern Regional JUCO Singles Championship.  Hale and Wright, meanwhile, combined to take the USTA/ITA Southern Regional JUCO Doubles Championship.

MMI landed three players in the pre-season ITA JUCO pre-season singles rankings:  De Leon (#18), Hale (#35), and Wright (#47).  In addition, MMI placed two doubles teams in the pre-season rankings:  Hale/Wright (#15) and De Leon/Javier de Claire (#38).

Sophomores de Claire and Marty Birchmeier, along with freshmen Patrick Ryder and Ben Jandzinski, will vie for the final three singles spots in the six-flight singles lineup.  MMI's third doubles team is still up in the air and will be finalized sometime in February.
