Tigers Start 2024 with an Easy Win

Marion, AL. – The MMI Tigers earned an easy win Friday afternoon, defeating Florida Coastal Prep 118-66. They will host the Saints of Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Monday, January 8, for an ACCC match-up. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the William R. Ireland Athletic Center.

Marion jumped out to a 5-0 lead and extended the lead to double digits when Johnathon Crawford drained a three-pointer with under fourteen minutes to play in the first half. The Tigers held a 63-34 lead at half time.

In the first five minutes of the second half, the Spartans of Florida Coastal Prep put together a small run and cut the lead to thirteen points, 65-42, before MMI answered with a run of their run and cruised to the easy win.

Nicholas Cham came off the bench to lead the Tigers with eighteen points. Johnathon Crawford added sixteen points and Jaylen Carrington, Tyrone Wright, and Jahmar Brown each scored thirteen points.
