Tigers Drop to 2-3 in ACCC North

Marion, AL. - After defeating Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa last week, the MMI men's basketball team struggled to secure their first home ACCC North win Tuesday evening against the Parsons of Snead State CC.  Although Marion made the contest close in the final minutes, Snead was able to secure the 63-67 win from the free throw line.  The Tigers were led by Joshua Rathell and last week's ACCC Co-Player of the Week, Ladarius Carter.  Josh scored 15 while "LD" finished with 14 points, all in the second half.  Nathan Boyd scored 10 for Marion, now 11-5 overall and 2-3 in conference play.  Rounding out the scoring for MMI were:  Josue Passius (9), Mark Bradwell (4), Quavon Blackwood (2), Andrew Reddick (5), Willie Dunbar III (2), and Jacorey Turnipseed (2).

Marion will look for that first home conference win again Thursday evening when they host Lawson State CC.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the William R. Ireland Athletic Center.
