Tripp's 24 points Leads Marion to ACCC North Victory

The Marion Military Institute men's basketball team started their 2016-17 ACCC North play with an 83-65 victory at Southern Union State Community College.  The Tigers led 37-27 at halftime.  

Sophomore forward and Demopolis, Alabama native Charles Tripp, led MMI with 24 points and nine rebounds.  Freshman Carlos Bell collected another double-double for the Tigers; 12 points and 14 rebounds.  Quamauri Hardy and Mikel Davis rounded out the double figure scorers with 10 points each.

Marion, ranked 20th in the latest NJCAA national poll, improves to 12-1 overall and 1-0 in league play.  They will host Gadsden State Community College Tuesday, January 17 in the William R. Ireland Center.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
