Tigers 6-3 at Thanksgiving Break

The Marion Military Institute men's basketball team defeated Jeff Davis Community College 80-53 to take a 6-3 record into Thanksgiving break.  The Tigers defeated Jeff Davis and Lurleen B. Wallace CC twice, Bishop State CC and Point University JV once while losing close games to Stillman JV, Wallace State CC (Selma) and Enterprise State Community College.

Marion's offense is led by sophomore guards Christian Bradford and Ronnie Baylark.  Bradford is holding a 21 point per game average (3rd in ACCC) while his counterpart Baylark is sitting at 15.2 points per game (10th in ACCC).   Besides being ranked in the scoring column, both are ranked in the top five for free throw shooting in the Alabama Community College Conference.  Christian is holding down 2nd at 88.6% with Ronnie right behind him at 88%.

Freshman Charles Tripp leads the rebounding edge for Marion at 5.1 per game.  Sophomore Miles Perdue is close behind with 4.6 grabs per game and freshman Michael Nobles holds a 4.4 per game average despite missing the last four games.

Marion will face the Stillman College junior varsity squad at home Monday, November 30 with a 7:00 p.m. tip in the William R. Ireland Athletic Center.  Admission is $5.00 or FREE with one canned/non-perishable food item.  Come support your hometown team and help a worthy cause!
