Tigers Win Season Opener on Road

Andalusia, AL. - The Marion Military Institute men's basketball team defeated the Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Saints 65-63 to start the season 1-0.  The Tigers were down 30-34 at half time.

Sophomore guards Christian Bradford and Ronnie Baylark led the Tigers with 21 and 16 points, respectively. Bradford had eight rebounds to tie Charles Tripp for the team leader while Baylark snagged seven. Tripp, a freshman from Demopolis, also had seven points. Quamauri Hardy  and Michael Nobles each finished with five points.  Hardy also recorded four steals in the win.  Rounding out the scoring for Marion was Chase Garvin (4), Anthony Pierre-Louis (3), Dotson Griffin (2) and Neiman Dunams (2).

Marion will host Bishop State Community College Thursday evening in the newly renovated William R. Ireland Athletic Center.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
