Charles Steele, Jr. - Judge Irby Pope Award for Sportsmanship Recipient

Sophomore Charles Steele, Jr. was the 2015 recipient of the  Judge Irby Pope Award for Sportsmanship.  This award was first presented in 1927 and is given to a student-athlete at the Honors Convocation that displays true sportsmen-like qualities both on and off the playing field.  Michelle Ivey, Director of Athletics, used this quote by Jim Courier to describe "CJ" during the ceremony - "Sportsmanship for me is when a guy walks off the court and you can't tell whether he won or lost, when he carries himself with pride either way."

CJ was a member of the men's basketball team for two years.
