Tigers End First Semester at 6-6

Marion, AL. - The Marion Military Institute men's basketball team finished the first semester with a team record of 6-6 after losing at home to Meridian Community College Saturday afternoon by a score of 56-40. 

Leading the Tigers into the break on the offensive end are newcomers Ronnie Baylark, Jr. and Christian Bradford.  Baylark is averaging 11.7 points while dishing out 2.5 assists per game at the point guard position.  Bradford is right behind Baylark with 10 points per game and 2.1 assists. 

Freshmen Jamareo Duggan and Miles Perdue are the rebound leaders after twelve games for Marion.  Duggan is grabbing 5.5 boards per game to Perdue's 4.4.  Perdue also leads the team in steals with 1.6 per game.

As a team, MMI is shooting 44.5% from the field and 67.2% from the charity stripe while avergaing just shy of 64 points per game.  They are limiting their opponents to 58 points per game.

Marion will take the Christmas Break off before travelling to Brewton, Alabama on January 6, 2015 to take on Jefferson Davis Community College.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
