Basketball Defeats Jeff Davis at Home

Marion, AL. - The MMI men's basketball team defeated South ACCC foe Jefferson Davis Community College at home Saturday afternoon, 62-53.  Down by four points at halftime, the Tigers clawed their way back to tie the game at 37 points apiece with 15 minutes to play in the game. Free throws played a key role in the victory as Marion shot 18-for-22 from the charity stripe.

Four players from Marion finished scoring in double digits.  Freshman point guard Ronnie Baylark, Jr. led the home team in scoring with 12 points.  Baylark also grabbed seven rebounds.  Jamareo Duggan scored 11 points and led Marion with nine rebounds.  Christian Bradford and Joshua Ledbetter finished with 10 points apiece.  Others scoring for MMI were: Charles Steele, Jr. (7), Malik Musgrove (4), Miles Perdue (3), Chase Garvin (3), and Dotson Griffin, Jr. (2).

Marion plays in Selma, Alabama Monday night at 7:30 p.m. against Wallace State Community College before coming back home on Thursday to host Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (LBW).  The tip-off against LBW is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
