Tigers Drop Two on Road to Open Season

Jacksonville, FL. - The Marion Military Institute men's basketball team dropped a pair of games on the road to open the 2014-15 season.  In the first game Marion was defeated by St. Petersburg College, 68-57.  Charles Steele, Jr. led Marion with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting.  Christian Bradford finished with 11 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Miles Perdue grabbed a team high six rebounds.  He also contributed six points in the loss.  Others scoring for Marion were: Braxton Abrams (9), Ronnie Baylark (4), Jamareo Duggan (4), Warren Reddick (3), Malik Musgrove (2), Chase Garvin (2), and Dotson Griffin, Jr. (2).

In game two Marion lost to USC-Salkahatchie, 73-67.  Ronnie Baylark and Christian Bradford both finished in double digits scoring, with 18 and 11 points respectively. Jamareo Duggan led the Tigers with eight rebounds.  Duggan finished with six points while teammates Miles Perdue (5), Malik Musgrove (4), Chase Garvin (4), Dotson Griffin, Jr. (4), Braxton Abrams (3), and Anthony Pierre-Louis (3) each got into the scoring column.

Marion will travel to Mobile, Alabama Thursday, November 6, to take on ACCC South foe Bishop State Community College.  A 7:30 p.m. tip-off is scheduled.  The Tiger's first home game will be on Saturday, November 8th against Darton State.  That game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
