Sophomores Recognized at Last Home Game

Marion, AL - The sophomore basketball players were recognized yesterday evening before MMI's last home basketball game.  From left to right: Assistant Coach Tyler Cole, Monta Sanford (Tallahassee, FL/Albany HS), Greg Henry (Birmingham, AL/Wenonah HS), Raymond Hobbs (Huntsville, AL/Huntsville HS), Keon Binion (Georgiana, AL/Georgiana HS), Orlando Davis (Hillsboro, AL/East Lawrence HS), Jamar Pope (Harvest, AL/Sparkman HS), Joshua Murrell (Birmingham, AL/Woodlawn HS), and Head Coach Philip Stitt.

The Tigers lost a heartbreaker to ACCC North Division foe Shelton State 71-70 in a hard-fought game.  Marion will travel to Gadsden, Alabama this Thursday to play Gadsden State Community College.  The winner of that game will earn a spot in the upcoming ACCC Conference Tournament starting Wednesday, March 5 at Wallace State Community College Hanceville.
