Bio

Marion, AL. – Marion Military Institute (MMI) is excited to announce the hiring of Jonah Todd as the College’s head baseball coach starting June 1, 2023. Todd was a two-year starter for the Tigers and was named the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 as well as being named to the All-North Division Team.  In his two years at Marion, Todd played left field and center field, and finished his career with a .371 batting average; an on-base percentage of .482.

After graduating from Marion, Todd transferred to Auburn University and earned a starting position in centerfield for the Tigers.  During his junior year he earned SEC Player of the Week honors once and was named All-SEC Second Team and All-SEC Defensive Team.  Auburn University also named Todd to their All-Decade Team.    In his one year at Auburn, Todd batted .376 (2nd in the SEC) with five triples (tied for 1st in the SEC).

After Todd’s junior year, the Los Angeles Angels drafted him in the sixth round where he spent three seasons in their minor league system.

Todd started his coaching career at the University of Tennessee Southern and most recently served as an assistant coach at Lawson State Community College and helped the Cougars to a second-place finish in the ACCC North this past spring.
