Tigers Start 1-3 in ACCC Play

Marion, AL. – The MMI baseball team started ACCC play 1-3 with a win in the final game of the four-game series against Central Alabama Community College.

Game 1: CACC 1 MMI 0

Jacob Marshall pitched a complete game and took the loss as the Tigers could only generate one hit all game with the Trojans scoring their lone run, unearned, in the fifth inning.

Game 2: CACC 4 MMI 6

Jayson Wood started on the mound for Marion and worked three innings, giving up six hits, three runs (one earned) and a walk with three strikeouts. Nicholas Blaszczak worked four inning sin relief and gave up two hits, one run and three walks with five strikeouts.

CACC scored first in the top of the second inning when they plated two runs. MMI answered in the bottom half of the inning with two runs to tie the game. Jacob Smithson singled to lead off the at-bat. Seth Frantz and Joshua Gandy walked. Colby Thacker walked to score the first run. Wesley Chappell popped out to shallow left field, scoring Frantz.
