Tigers Split With Patriots
Selma, AL. - The Marion Military Institute baseball team split a doubleheaders with the Patriots of Wallace Community College Sunday afternoon.
Game 1 MMI 9 WCC 1
Jax Morris earned his second win of the spring after giving up four hits and one run (none earned) while striking out six batters in six innings of work/ Freshman Zakye Holiday threw one inning in relief striking out one batter.
Colton Lunceford and Hunter Stowe led Marion at the plate in the convincing win. Stowe went a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and three runs scored. Lunceford finished with three hits in four at-bats, three RBI and a run scored. Jordan Moore and Nicholas Davis each had two hits. Moore had three RBI and a run scored while Davis added an RBI. Also collecting hits for the Tigers were: Bryson Kirk, Duncan McReath, Drew Mercier, and Michael Rich.
Game 2 MMI 1 WCC 11
After a change in the lineup the Tigers saw the Patriots score four runs in the second inning and another five in the third inning to take the lopsided victory. John Allen took the loss from the mound for Marion. Mason Elmore and Andrew Parks also saw action in relief.
Marion's offense struggled in game two as they only collected two hits with Duncan McReath and Christian Wright each finishing with one. Wright scored MMI's lone run.
