Tigers Drop First Two Games to the Parsons

Marion, AL. - The MMI baseball team dropped the first two games of a four game series at home to the Parsons of Snead State Community College. 

In game one, MMI scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning and held a 6-2 lead before the Parsons chipped away at the lead, adding runs in each of the next five innings.  Marion could not put together another scoring attack and took a 9-6 loss.

Game two saw the Tigers take an early 1-0 lead when Michael Rich drove in David Sweat.  Snead State added a run in the top of the second inning to tie the game at one run apiece.  Sweat started the third inning with a base hit and after being moved to second was able to score off a double from Devne Daniel.  The Parsons took the lead back in the fourth inning, 3-2.  They added two more runs in the top of the seventh to take a 5-2 lead.  Marion was able to score one more run in the bottom half of the seventh inning, but couldn't add to the deficit after loading the bases.  The Tigers took the loss, 5-3.

MMI will travel to Boaz, Alabama Saturday to complete the four game series against Snead State Community College.  First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
