Baseball Drops Three of Four to Lawson

The MMI baseball team dropped three of four games last week in their series with Lawson State Community College.  The Tigers drop to 18-13 overall; 4-8 in the ACCC North.

Marion will travel to Hanceville, Alabama this Thursday as they face the Lions of Wallace State CC in another ACCC North four-game series.  First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.  Saturday, the Tigers will host the Lions in the last two games of the series with the first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m.

In their lone win against Lawson, Marion was led at the plate by Taylor Clemmons, Austin Garofalo, Caleb Squires, Samuel Clement, and David Sweat.  Clemmons went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run scored.  Garofalo also had three hits in five at-bats with two doubles.  He scored three runs and had one RBI.  Squires, Clement and Sweat each had two hits for Marion.  Sweat scored three times and recorded an RBI while Squires finished wih two RBI awith one run scored.  Clement scored once and had three RBI.

Also getting hits for the Tigers were Ryne Benson and Casey PageBradley Brown earned the win in the circle after relieving starter Jarrett Carter.  He worked seven innings and gave up six hits, two runs (one earned) and two strikeouts and one walk.
